Women’s Health Research: Understanding Roles of Sex and Gender

March 11, 2021

On March 2, the Endocrine Society and Society for Women’s Health Research hosted a virtual congressional briefing to discuss the importance of including sex as a biological variable (SABV) in research, and to provide an update on National Institutes of Health (NIH) 2016 SABV policy and how the field has changed in the past five years. The panelists also offered recommendations for overcoming barriers to the inclusion of SABV in research, ensuring better health care for all. The event was held in part to celebrate Women’s Health Research Day, women researchers, and advances in women’s health research.
