Dr. Rothman is an Associate Professor of Medicine-Endocrinology with secondary appointments in Radiology and Psychiatry at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. She serves as the Clinical Director of the Metabolic Bone Program and co-founder of the UC Health Integrated Transgender Program. Her research interests include the interactions of sex steroids and the bone.
She received a BA with honors in classics at Brown University in Providence, R.I. in 1993. She received her MD at the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York in 1999. She went on to do her internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Md., and completed this training in 2002. She then spent a year working as an internist and teaching medical students at Hubert Kairuki Memorial University in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania. Dr. Rothman completed her fellowship in Endocrinology at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center and began working in the Endocrinology Clinic at the Anschutz Outpatient Pavilion of University Hospital in 2006. She is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Endocrinology.
